Steps to Follow

The time zone and date accuracy is essential for proper T3 administration. The date and time zone will affect the scheduling daemon, and since data logging on the unit is done at local time, an incorrect date/time will confuse any effort to time-line a problem.

From the T3 master, run the tzset command to set the time zone (the time is set, based upon GMT time. Reference a GMT website to determine the proper hourly difference from GMT)

T300-Master:/:<1> tzset -0700

From the T3 master, run the date command to set up the current date.

usage: date [yyyymmddhhmm[.ss]]

T300-Master:/:<2> date 200011151143

(GMT-0700 is MST. The tzset time zone should always match the time zone on the management host)

Run the date command to verify that the date and time are current and correct.

T300-Master:/:<3> date

Comment: The doc updater just mentioned " Updating doc for more detail" but no mention of what was being added. How are we to figure that out?

Since this was a small document, I then decided to compare the same with the original document and found that the updater has just added the following line

"(the time is set, based upon GMT time. Reference a GMT website to determine the proper hourly difference from GMT) "

Imagine, if this was a 3/4 page document, it would have been extremely difficult to do the review.

The updated detail , even though it was understood , since it was missing from the document, I feel it is ok.
