Applies to:

Sun StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System - Version: Not Applicable and later   [Release: N/A and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Auto Clean Option Missing in FRS-3.0 non-Partitioned Library.
The check box in the configuration screen in SLConsole that enables Auto Cleaning is missing for a non-Partitioned library using FRS-3.0 code.

Cause

Firmware change.

Solution

The screen should look like the image in the attached file:

There is one recommended workaround to enable Auto Cleaning if the check box is missing:

a). Use the CLI to enable Auto Clean for Partition "0" (as this is a non-Partitioned library) using the following command:
SL3000> partition autoClean set ‘0-enable’
The single quotes are required in the command.  See the complete command syntax by entering "help partition" at the CLI prompt.

b). To display the cleaning status, enter the following CLI command that will display all configured features for all partitions, including Partition-0 for a non-partitioned library:
SL3000> partition attribute status *
Note! The Auto Clean feature setting DOES NOT get brought into FRS-3.0 from lower levels of microcode. If the feature is enabled in 2.x code, it will be disabled after a FRS-3.0 code upgrade. In addition, any interface reconfigurations between FC/SCSI and HLI will return this setting to the default value of "disabled".
