Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1308248.1 : ACSLS - SL8500 Dual-TCP Port 2a Cannot be Varied Online
In this Document Created from <SR 3-3255406961> Symptoms1. SL8500 Dual-TCP feature is enabled. ACSLS is only communicating to the SL8500 using port 2b.query lmu all shows that port 2a is in an offline state. Example of query lmu all output: ACSSA> query lmu all 2011-03-25 21:39:34 LMU Status ACS: 0 Mode: Single LMU Master Status: Communicating Not Partitioned Standby Status: - ACS State Desired State online online Port Port State Desired State Role CL 0, 0 offline online - - sl8500-2a 0, 1 online online - 22 sl8500-2b 2. Cannot vary port 2a online in ACSLS. These are the error messages in the acsss_event.log during the vary event: 2011-03-24 14:40:06 VARY[31769]: 2166 I va_prt_updt.c 1 360 Desired state for Port 0, 0 set to STATE_ONLINE. 2011-03-24 14:40:06 VARY[31769]: 546 N cl_log_lh_er.c 1 99 va_lh_response: LH error type = LH_ERR_PORT_CONNECT 2011-03-24 14:40:06 VARY[31769]: 146 N va_prt_updt.c 1 713 va_prt_updt: Unexpected status STATUS_LIBRARY_FAILURE detected 3. testlmutcp fails with a "connection refused" error: $ testlmutcp 111.11.111.11 Connect failed on PortName 111.11.11.11, port 50001 errno = 146, Connection refused 4. ping to port 2a from ACSLS server works. traceroute also works. 5. There is a firewall between ACSLS and port 2a. ChangesSome library maintenance was done, like replace a robot.Possible network configuration changes may have happened but cannot be confirmed. CauseAny of these could have caused the port 2a to go offline:1. Possible problem with the network routing of data between the library TCP port and ACSLS. 2. The outgoing HLI response packets from port 2a are getting blocked by the firewall. Solution1. Make sure that ports 50001 thru 50016 are open in the firewall.2. Make sure that traceroute works both ways between ACSLS and the library TCP port. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
