Applies to:Sun StorageTek SL8500 Modular Library System - Version: Not ApplicableInformation in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsGhost Bot being seen in SL Console.SLConsole will persist to display extra 4 H-Bots in the tree as "Failed" with red icons. ChangesRemoved hand bots from library due to configuration change requested by customer.CauseYou may encounter the need to have an 8 H-Bot machine converted to a 4 H-Bot machine. This may be due to a customer configuration change, relocation with a configuration change or the accidental addition of 8 H-Bots into what should be a 4 H-Bot machine.SolutionSimply removing the extra H-Bots will not remove the SL8500's memory of these 4 H-Bots.The SLConsole will persist to display the extra 4 H-Bots in the tree as "Failed" with red icons. There are two approaches to this problem: -If the SL8500 is on SDP or has dial-up remote connectivity, contact Tape Hardware Support to have this resolved. @ This would be done with root access, rename or delete the /mnt/idcard/configuration/StkRobots.txt file then reboot to rebuild the file. -The second solution is to take the remaining 4 H-Bots in the machine with the extra H-Bots in the SLConsole and move every H-Bot to a different rail than its currently installed rail. Reboot the SL8500 and the extra H-Bots should be removed from the SLConsole. Fix: This is planned to be resolved in future code beyond 6.04. No ETA has been provided at this time. The "config check" command that was enabled in 6.0x should fix this but does not. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
