Solution  1019255.1 :   Sun SPARC Enterprise M4000/M5000 Power Cord Clips not fully engaging

Symptoms
Power cord clips are not fully engaging the power cord.
On some systems shipped prior to 1/1/2008 the clip which retains the power cord to the system chassis is not fully engaging.  The potential exists for the cord to fall out when maintenance is performed. 
See the Attachment section at the bottom of this article for example pictures of a good clip engagement, and bad clip engagement.


Resolution
Tie wrap or Velcro should be used to secure the cord in place.
