If the receiving cut out is not aligned do not use the alignment pins and manually adjust the door from left to right. If the pins are installed without the correct reciprocating door cut out, the door will sit too far out from the frame and possible induce CAP targeting or Get/Put errors. The pins are used to assist in the right front door alignment and are not needed after the alignment and installation is complete. Problem Description: There is a sourcing and kitting problem associated with the Right Door Alignment Pins. The pins are used to assist in the right front door alignment and are not needed after the alignment and installation is complete. The door alignment pins are shipped in the accessory kit for the SL8500.
Pins were added to some install kits with incompatible doors; door cut outs were sized incorrectly, position incorrectly, or the receiving cut out in the door was missing.
If the pins are installed without the correct reciprocating door cut out the door will sit too far out from the frame and possible induce cap targeting or get/put errors.
Resolution: As of 3/2005 the issue has not been resolved and recommend the alignment pins be taken out of all units already installed. Recommend pending installs verify the receiving right door cut out is correctly aligned to the pins. If the receiving cut out is not aligned do not use the alignment pins and manually adjust the door from left to right.
