Symptoms

SL500 is not configuring drives in DEM
Drives are not showing up in configuration
Logs show drives report into the RLC card but do not show in configuration
DEM is not recognized
Missing label
Drives not seen

Log trace all from SL500:

***ERROR::IfmDriveState::executeCommand():Cell DB could not convert the given DRIVE ID (X) into a Logical Address...cellDbStatus==1 log warning warn, 0000, 0000, "Track range: 15590, is short for CEM module, may cause problems."

This is an indication of the label missing as it believes it is a CEM not a DEM.

Resolution
Check the SL500 has the approriate barcode label inside the DEM, across metal bar.
Refer to Doc 1275819.1 to order labels.
If the bar is missing, contact Tech Support to order the metal bar.
