Symptoms

In very rare instances it is possible that both System Service Processors (SSP) on the Sun Enterprise[TM] 10000 can report that they are spares. Usually this is reported after both hosts are rebooted simultaneously.

Resolution

Easiest fix is to just reboot one SSP.
To avoid this possible situation in the future, change one of the SSP's OBP values of diag-level to max and the other SSP's diag-level to min.

      SSP0:
diag-level=min

      SSP1:
diag-level=max

This will avoid any possible issues of both SSP's attempting to become the main at the same time.
