Symptoms
This issue can occur while attempting to manage a SE6130 - Logins to Configuration Service using the WebUI or using SSCS CLI fail.
On the command line you will get messages like for a misstyped password.
# sscs login -h localhost -u root
Type your password:
The login failed. Try again.

The WebUI will let you log in to the Java Web Console but as soon as you try to switch to the Sun StorEdge[TM] 6130 Configuration Service you will see following informational message:

User root is not allowed to access management software, log out and log in as a valid user.

Resolution
Login to Configuration Service for Sun StorEdge[TM] 6130 Array fails in WebUI and CLI even with correct password

In some cases the reason for this behaviour is a misconfiguration of user properties, which are defined in a files stored in /var/opt/SUNWse6130ui/local_data

The contents of user.properties should look like follows:

# cd /var/opt/SUNWse6130ui/local_data/
# cat user.properties
storage=storage
root=storage
guest=guest
#

By accident it could be changed and look like this, which will prevent root from logging into SSCS or WebUIs  Sun StorEdge 6130 Configuration Service:

# cd /var/opt/SUNWse6130ui/local_data/
# cat user.properties
storage=storage
root=test
guest=guest
#

Restore the default settings and root will be able again to administer SE6130 arrays. After altering the file contents a reboot of management host might be necessary.

Another possible reason for failed logins is use of security software like Automated Security Enhancement Tools (SUNWast) which prevents a user from login. The only currently known solution is to de-install this software. Please consult the  documentation for your  particular security software.
