PreviouslyPublishedAs 216758 Symptoms A Sun Fire[TM] V40z server, running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0, with kernel version '2.4.21-4.ELsmp'(or less), is reporting the following errors repeatedly, in the /var/log/messages file: Sep 2 14:16:25 system01 kernel: Northbridge status a60000010005001b Resolution The kernel needs to be updated, to better handle the Northbridge errors. Run 'up2date,' making sure that the kernel updates are not excluded. It is known that kernel version 2.4.21-32.0.1 resolves the issue.
