Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1011882.1 : Sun Fire[TM] 3800-6800: Usage: error from using DR (cfgadm)
PreviouslyPublishedAs 216268 Symptoms When user tries to use DR (Dynamic Reconfiguration) to unconfigure a Sun Fire System Board, an error is generated:
# cfgadm -c unconfigure NO.SB4 Usage: cfgadm [-f] [-y|-n] [-v] [-o hardware_opts ] -c function ap_id [ap_id...] cfgadm [-f] [-y|-n] [-v] [-o hardware_opts ] -x function ap_id [ap_id...] cfgadm [-v] [-s listing_options ] [-o hardware_opts ] [-a] [-l [ap_id|ap_type...]] cfgadm [-v] [-o hardware_opts ] -t ap_id [ap_id...] cfgadm [-v] [-o hardware_opts ] -h [ap_id|ap_type...] # cfgadm -o unconfigure NO.SB4 cfgadm: Configuration administration not supported
Resolution This error will occur if the user does not have the minimum required version of Solaris OS installed. The minimum supported configuration is Solaris 8 2/02, with the recommended patch cluster as per <Document: 1010740.1> Patch Cluster, Patch Report and Maintenance Update Content Information
To determine which version of Solaris you are running, view the /etc/release file.
