PreviouslyPublishedAs 215382 Symptoms Sun StorEdge[TM] 99xx SVP storage navigator can not be accessed webconsole reports error: A network error occurred, the server is not ready,or an error occurred in the server.(3 2033) "Raid Information Service Display" shows most of the HIC functions are not initialized for example: Function name Status ErrorCode HIC(E-Copy) Not Initialize 0 HIC(LDEV Security) Not Initialize 0 HIC(LDEV Gaurd) Not Initialize 0 HIC(NAS) Not Initialize 0 HIC(CFL) Not Initialize 0 HIC(HORC) Not Initialize 0 HIC(PPC) Initialize(Error) 6023 HIC(OnDemand) Not Initialize 0 HIC(Monitor) Not Initialize 0 The HIC(Monitor) process failed to initialize, preventing the rest of the SVP web interface from coming up. NOTE: Multiple Reboots of SVP did not resolve the issue. Resolution HDS support documents indicate one of the possible solution to fix this issue is to replace SVP assembly. SVP replacement are very tedious and time consuming. Is there any other way to fix this issue without replacing the SVP itself ? Yes, There is another possible way to fix this issue. Check if there are any hardware errors or issues with accessing data on the SVP local HDD "D:". If there are issues then re-partitioning/re-formatting the SVP Local HDD "D:" will resolve the issue. If NOT, SVP assembly replacement is unavoidable, as a last resort. The following steps should help to check issues with local HDD "D:" and fix them. (1) Check SVP local disk "D:" we found that system Note: In D:\mondat, SVP stores some monitor data which is used by storage navigator. Check other normal SVP Local driver "D:" it is only used by SVP via D:\mondat In D:\mondat, SVP stored some monitor data We notice that less than 2MB space is used on drive "D:" Checked windows event log, Many fatal errors from local drive "D:" were logged since a few day ago. (2) Based on HDS support document HDS52869, But, while we try to format local Drive "D:" system report error: failed to format the drive. (3) Go to Access Start-> Program-> Management Tool (4) Reboot SVP, system auto created needed directory (5) access Storage navigator via local SVP-> web-console, It is good, NO need to replace SVP assembly.
