Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1010812.1 : Sun Enterprise[TM] 450 indicates Power Supply (P.S.) and cpu fan tray failed.
PreviouslyPublishedAs 214941 Symptoms System fails to boot. These errors were displyed on system console: WARNING: Power supply fan 1 failure detected WARNING: CPU fan 0 failure detected WARNING: CPU fan 1 failure detected WARNING: CPU fan 2 failure detected Resolution Stated Action plan was to replace P.S. 1 1. Upon investigation all green LED's were on for all P.S.. No fault LED's were on for any P.S. 2. Following the action plan, P.S. 1 was swapped. The system still failed to boot. On the system console the same message displays: WARNING: Power supply fan 1 failure detected WARNING: CPU fan 0 failure detected WARNING: CPU fan 1 failure detected WARNING: CPU fan 2 failure detected 3. Next step was to replace the cpu fan tray. This resolved the issue. Additional Information 1. Check the LED's on the power supplies, if you see these errors on the console: WARNING: Power supply fan 1 failure detected WARNING: CPU fan 0 failure detected WARNING: CPU fan 1 failure detected WARNING: CPU fan 2 failure detected 2. If the Power Supplies green LED's are on and no fault LED are on, then replace the CPU fan tray first. This is more likely the problem.
