Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1009395.1 : Sun StorEdge[TM] 3310: Some sccli commands run in-band give error: “this operation is only supported on RAID primary controllers”
PreviouslyPublishedAs 212991 Symptoms The Sun StorEdge[TM] 3310 SCSI Array can be managed by a command line interface which comes as a part of a package called SUNWsccli and can be invoked by running "/opt/SUNWsscs/sbin/sccli". The management of Sun StorEdge 3310 SCSI Array can be in-band (using the SCSI interface) or be out of band (using ethernet interface). Some sccli commands run in-band give error: this operation is only supported on RAID primary controllers This error occurs when certain sccli commands are run in-band because all luns mapped to the host are assigned to the secondary controller. Therefore, all sccli commands are being executed by the secondary controller. Note: This does not effect sccli out-of-band or Sun StorEdge[TM] 3510 configurations. In this example the host is attached to ch3. Lun0 (ld2) is assigned to the secondary controller, and mapped to ch3, target 1 (SID=1).
