Symptoms
Notice messages in domain log file:
"platmod: [ID 349959 kern.info] NOTICE: enque_ecc_mailbox_msg:
sbbc_mbox_queue_ecc_event not found"

Resolution
Sun Fire[TM] 6800 domain's Notice messages:
Above is resolved with Patch ID: 110373-05 or higher - fixed Bug ID: 4860142.

According to Bug ID: 4860142, the notice messages
in the system log file are likely the result of applying S8 KJP
Patch ID:108528-24 or newer and not applying S8 sgsbbc driver Patch ID: 110373-05
or newer. (Theoretically, this could also occur if the sgsbbc driver
were not loaded, but in the practical sense we would not then have a
running Serengeti.)

The fix for Bug ID: 4860142 was splitted by the S8 patch gate keepers into
these two patches. This created a soft one-way dependency. Patching
the platmod with Patch ID: 108528-24 or newer but not patching the sgsbbc driver
with Patch ID: 110373-05 or newer violates this dependency and prevents any ECC
events from being reported to the SC. This was documented in the README
file for the S8 Kernel Update:

NOTE 48: To get the complete fix for Bug ID: 4860142, or the complete
fix for Bug ID: 4833032 on Serengeti, please also install the
          following patch:

          110373-05 (or newer)    sgsbbc patch

If Patch ID: 110373-05 or newer is applied, the dependency should be
 fixed.

Incidentally, this patch does affect Solaris[TM] 8 CPU and Memory offlining
mechanism if missing. As part of CHS data mechanism, any missing patch
110373-05 is definitely responsible for the failure of the domain OS to
communicate any ECC action to the SC. On a Serengeti, Solaris[TM] is completely
dependent on the sgsbbc driver to communicate information about ECC events
to the SC (eg. for purpose of CHS data). Hence, also for Solaris CPU and
Memory offlining to work, the requirements are Solaris 8 OE update 4 with
KU-108528-29 plus Patch ID: 117000-03 (or higher) and Patch ID: 110373-05 (or
higher).

Note: Patch ID: 110373-05 (or higher) is not found currently in Solaris 8
      Recommended Patch Cluster.
