Symptoms

Sun Fire [TM] 15k (12k) system controller reports following error messages:

Mar 4 22:50:12 v4u-15ka-sc1 pcipsy: [ID 781074 kern.warning] WARNING: pcipsy0: spurious interrupt from ino 0x1c

Mar 4 22:50:12 v4u-15ka-sc1 pcipsy: [ID 100033 kern.info]

Cause

Check if a serial cable is connected to the System Controller and left disconnected on the other side. Leaving the cable disconnected this way can cause these errors.

This issue has been witnessed on Solaris [TM] 8 and Solaris [TM] 9.

It is documented in Bug ID 4966922.

Solution

  • Disconnect the serial cable from the System Controller.
Or:
  • Reconnect the other side of the serial cable to the terminal concentrator (if any) or Laptop.
This problem usually starts after a service action, such as sms upgrade or patch install.
