Symptoms
When the Host Storage Domain has Host Mode Option settings specified by Physical View or Storage Navigator, if the Host Mode is changed using HiCommand Device Manager's ModifyPort command (CLI or the XML API), the original Host Mode Option settings are cleared.
This problem will occur when all the following conditions are met:
1) The microcode of the Sun StorEdge[TM] 9900 is DKC 50-02-10-00/00 or later
2) Any version of HiCommand Device Manager between 3.5 and 4.0.0-03 for Solaris[TM] Operating System or Windows is used
3) The host mode for the host storage domain is changed using Hitachi Device Manager's ModifyPort command (the CLI or the XML API)

Resolution
This problem will be fixed in HiCommand Device Manager 4.0 patch 04 (4.0.0-04) and 4.1

The fix will be backported to 3.5 patch 05 (3.5.0-05)

Relief/Workaround
To recover from the problem, reset the Host Mode Options by Physical View (on the SVP) or Storage Navigator

Additional Information
This problem occurs because the specifications of the Sun StorEdge 9900 were changed to add Host Mode Options to the Host Group.
If no Host Mode Options have been set during a Host Mode change, the array clears any existing Host Mode Options in the Host Group. HiCommand Device Manager does not support the changed specifications. Device Manager's ModifyPort command (CLI and XML API) can set the Host Mode, but not the Host Mode Options. As a result, because no Host Mode Options are set when the Host Mode of the Sun StorEdge 9900 is changed by HDvM using the CLI or the XML API, any Host Mode Options set in the Host Group at that time are cleared
