Changes{CHANGE}CauseAll L25/L100 libraries with the MC300 Prism Management Card which have firmware below 4.3.1 will not allow you to update the network settings via the front panel.SolutionResolution:To check the current firmware level go to the main window on the front panel of the L25/L100. On the bottom center of the screen. The permanent fix to this problem is resolved by upgrading the libraries firmware to 4.3.1 or greater. Refer to Patch Id: 116168-02. Relief/Workaround 1.) Temporarily configure a host computer's network configuration to the IP address 192.168.1.x, where x is a number between 2 and 254. Enter the subnet mask as 255.255.255.0. 2.) From the host machine verify we can ping 192.168.1.1. 3.) Using your browser on the host machine, enter the IP address 192.168.1.1 to access the Prism Management Console Web pages. 4.) Login to the Prism Management Console. Default user name is "admin" and default password is "admin". 5.) In the navigation frame, under PMC Server Management, click Network Configuration. 6.) Change the PMC network configuration to an appropriate IP address and subnet mask for your network. 7.) Click the "Apply" button 8.) Now you will need to reboot the MC300 Prism Management Card for the new network settings to take affect. 9.) Before rebooting the PMC and library, ensure there are no active or pending jobs being processed by the library. 10.) To reboot, access the Utilities page, in the navigation frame, under PMC Server Management, click Utilities. 11.) Under Shutdown Prism Management Card, select Reboot and click OK. Rebooting the PMC and library may take up to 15 minutes during which time the library will be unavailable. 12.) Any further changes to the network configuration will have to be done through the Prism Management Console Web pages until the firmware is upgraded to 4.3.1. @ prism, MC300, L25, L100, PMC Previously Published As 80863 Change History Oracle Review 12/16/09, Glen Foley Date: 2005-04-01 User Name: 95826 Action: Approved Comment: - verified metadata - changed review date to 2006-03-31 - checked for TM - 2 products/TM added - audience ok : contract Publishing Version: 3 Date: 2005-04-01 User Name: 95826 Action: Accept Comment: Version: 0 Date: 2005-03-31 User Name: 37979 Attachments This solution has no attachment |
