The S99sms command should only be executed on a Sun Fire 15K System Controller. CauseThe new SC doesn't have the proper firmware loaded.SolutionThe resolution is to do the following "flashupdate":root@sc0 # su - sms-svc sc0:sms-svc:1> cd /opt/SUNWSMS/firmware sc0:sms-svc:2> ls SCOBPimg.di nSSCPOST.di oSSCPOST.di sc0:sms-svc:3> flashupdate -f SCOBPimg.di sc0/fp0 Unable to determine local SC number. Only the local System Control Fproms can be updated. Do you wish to continue? (yes/no)? yes Current System Controller FPROM Information =========================================== ERROR: Invalid FPROM segment at offset 0. SC Flash Image Information ========================== Name: SSCOBP-dropins, Version: 1.3 Size: 144, Check Sum: 55375 Date Flashed: 03/09/04 Date Created: 03/09/04 Do you wish to update the SC User FPROM (yes/no)? yes Update SC at Local SC, FPROM 0 : Erasing... Done. Writing and verifying ... Done. Internal Comments This procedure has been performed successfully on a customer's site.
