Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1004679.1 : Sun Fire[TM] Servers: setdefaults does not reset local-mac-address? parameter
PreviouslyPublishedAs 206485
Applies to:Sun Fire 3800 ServerSun Fire 4800 Server Sun Fire 6800 Server Sun Fire E2900 Server - Version: Not Applicable and later [Release: NA and later] Sun Fire 4810 Server - Version: Not Applicable and later [Release: NA and later] All Platforms SymptomsThe Sun Fire[TM] System Controller setdefaults command does not do anything with the local-mac-address OBP variable.CauseThere is no "Cause", this is expected behavior.SolutionSystem Controller Application (ScApp) does not store any OBP parameters initially. When a property is changed, OBP asks ScApp to save this information. ScApp treats the data as opaque and does not interpret it in any way. When OBP starts, it asks ScApp for a list of arbitrary properties. If a property is returned, OBP uses it. Otherwise OBP just uses a hardcoded default value. In other words, the ScApp setdefaults command does not know the names of any OBP properties which are private to OBP. Since ScApp doesn't know the properties, it cannot set them to default values. Previously Published As 26844 Attachments This solution has no attachment |
