Symptoms
Hosts running Solaris[TM] Operating System connected to Sun StorageTek[TM] 99x0 (ST99x0) systems are reporting multiple PLOGI (Port login) with "reason=no connection":
Feb  6 10:10:46 hksu03 fp: [ID 517869 kern.info] NOTICE: fp(0): PLOGI to 11a00 failed state=Packet Transport error, reason=No Connection
Feb  6 10:15:46 hksu03 fp: [ID 517869 kern.info] NOTICE: fp(0): PLOGI to 11a00 failed state=Packet Transport error, reason=No Connection

Resolution
ST99x0 ports are connected to FC (Fibre Channel) switch and host can see ST99x0 ports and attempt to log into but failed during PLOGI process. In this case lun security is configured correctly to stop this host access.

To stop these unwanted PLOGI notices is to implement switch zoning and remove those unwanted ST99x0 ports from being seen by this host.

cfgadm -o show_FCP_dev -alv shows the lun as unconfigured failed
and luxadm -e dump_map shows the device as failed to get the type

cfgadm -o show_FCP_dev -alv
<snip>
c2::50060e800381da05           connected    unconfigured failed
unavailable  unknown      n    /devices/ssm@0,0/pci@18,600000/SUNW,qlc@1/fp@0,0:fc::50060e800381da05
luxadm -e dump_map
<snip>
4    11a00   0         50060e800381da05 50060e800381da05 Failed to get the type.

In cases where the host need access to the luns, then lun security would be required to configure and allow access by the host.
