Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 1002384.1 : Sun StorEdge[TM] 6920: Unable to connect to CIMOM
PreviouslyPublishedAs 203337 Symptoms If you get the error "Unable to connect to CIMOM" while you attempt to login either through sscs or the GUI, this would mean that the CIMOM process isn't running anymore for whatever is the reason. The CIMOM process is /usr/java/bin/java -server -classpath /opt/wsi/server/jws/lib/wbemstartup.jar". Other possible side effect is the following event reported in loop into the file "Sp/messages/var_adm/messages" included in a SE6920 solution extract: vmcfg status <-i > <-p > <-s WARNING> <-c 0,0,3,0> <-t rack> <-u > : exit code = 7 Resolution 1--Capture a StorEdge 6920 solution extract and look at the file "Sp/ps_ef". If the process is running, you should get the following output. In that case, the resolution in that document might not apply to the problem you are encountering and probably that the next step won't solve the problem but this can be attempted. # grep wbemstartup.jar Sp/ps_ef root 236 1 0 17:32:36 ? 1:35 /usr/java/bin/java -server -classpath /opt/wsi/server/jws/lib/wbemstartup.jar - # If the process isn't running, you should get the following output. # grep wbemstartup.jar Sp/ps_ef # in that case, the resolution in that document applies to the problem you are encountering and you can move to the next step. 2--Restart the process manually by executing the following command line from the SP (Service Processor): # /opt/se6x20/bin/restart_se6000 Product Sun StorageTek 6920 System 6920, CIMOM, process, login, restart, wbemstartup, vmcfg, restart_se6000 Previously Published As 82376 Change History Date: 2005-08-19 User Name: 25440 Action: Approved Comment: Corrected title to official product name from "SE6920".
