Resolution This problem can arise during disk replacement when both the drive channels (2 and 3) see the drive differently. Ideally, only one channel should be seen reporting all the drives. When this problem happens, first check the status of the drives by connecting to the array using telnet or serial port and then selecting view and edit scsi Drives from the main menu. Check the status of the drive in question if it also shows up twice. If this is the case, then the only way to rectify this and have all the drives show up correctly on one channel is to reset the array. Use the sccli command that will ensure that the cache is flushed to the disks before actually resetting the array. If telnet/serial access mode is used, it is advisable to first shutdown the controller and then reset the array to get the cache flushed to the disks to prevent any data integrity issues.
