Symptoms

Power supplies cannot be removed from the chassis and/or internal LED cable may be damaged leading to abnormal LED functionality.

Impact

Using the wrong screws to secure the rack mount kit to the Netra T5440 could result in internal component damage to the server.

Contributing Factors

Screws from rack mount package 2492712 must be used to secure the rack mount to the server. Using the longer 8mm screws from the other packages will interfere with internal component movement and/or could damage internal components.

Reference the attached documents showing pictures of both correct and incorrect screws in their packaging, as well as pictures showing the wrong screw installed in a unit.

19" 4-post Slide Mount Kit (X4061A) is used by multiple types of servers so different size screws are delivered with this kit. There have been instances of the wrong screws being used to attach the rack mount to the Netra T5440 chassis.

Resolution

Screws from rack mount package (plastic bag) labeled 2492712 must be used to secure the rack mount to the Netra T5440.

If incorrect screws were used, they must be replaced by screws from package 2492712.

Identification of Affected Parts (how to)

The screws used to secure the rack mount to the Netra T5440 chassis should have threads that are 5mm in length. The 19" 4-post Slide Mount Kit (X4061A) already contains the correct screws as identified above.
