Symptoms

The above listed parts will function normally and this issue will have no impact on system operation.

Impact

Due to critical component shortages you may receive any of the above listed  boards with slightly damaged plastic components. This does not in any way interfere with normal operation.

For example, some boards may arrive with a tooth missing from the teeth rail.

See attachments for examples of potential damaged plastic components.

Contributing Factors

Component shortages on our supplier side for plastics used on the above listed uniboards has contributed to this situation.

Cause

Root Cause

Critical component shortage on our supplier side impacts our ability to replace boards with minor flaws to some plastic parts.

We are currently restarting production of these components and should have a new supplier set up and qualified by the end of the first quarter of 2011.

There will be no future purge of the RSLs to address these issues.

Resolution

Use boards as normal, and do not send them back as defective for the above stated issues.
