PreviouslyPublishedAs 242206 Bug Id <SUNBUG: 6724613>, <SUNBUG: 6725713> Product Sun Fire X4500 Server Date of Resolved Release 19-Sep-2008 ILOM 2.0.2.5 may alter Solaris disk names (see details below). ImpactAfter upgrading the ILOM on a Sun Fire X4500 to 2.0.2.5, if Solaris is reinstalled, and if the virtual CDROM and virtual floppy devices are not mapped in the JavaRConsole, several of the Solaris disk names may change. On newer systems shipped from the factory with ILOM 2.0.2.5 preinstalled, you may notice the boot disk and several other disks have different Solaris disk device names than prior shipped systems. This may cause confusion to the customer or the field.Contributing FactorsSun Fire X4500 upgraded to ILOM 2.0.2.5 may be impacted by this issue.This is a result of a new SP features as explained in CR 6724613. SymptomsAfter ILOM 2.0.2.5 has been installed, C2 and C3 device names are no longer used by the SP and will become avaliable for disk device names causing a shift in several disk device names.Examples: Output from the hd utility on a system with ILOM 2.0.2.1 or earlier Root CauseSee Contributing Factors and Symptoms sections above.Corrective ActionWorkaround:No workaround available - see Resolution section below. Resolution: Map both devices (CD-ROM and Floppy) in the JavaRConsole before reinstalling if PRE ILOM 2.0.2.5 disk drive mapping is desired.
