PreviouslyPublishedAs 240887 Product Sun StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System Date of Resolved Release 21-Aug-2008 Any license key generated and downloaded after August 12, 2008 will not function (see below) ImpactAny license key generated and downloaded after August 12, 2008 will not functionwith FRS_2.00 (or earlier) code versions. Since these keys are not backward compatible, SL3000 firmware will have to be upgraded to FRS_2.05. This will impact all the SL3000 library capacity, active cells, partitioning and more. Contributing FactorsUpgrading Sun StorageTek SL3000 FRS_2.00 (or earlier) to Sun StorageTek SL3000 FRS_2.05 (or later). SymptomsThe "Current License" TAB under "License Management" shows no license is installed.Root CauseSILKS tool now uses a new crypto feature to generate licenses.SILKS development has upgraded the security of the private keys and license file generation process. This requires a new license files to be obtained. This is because the SILKs server license keys changed to use the new crypto license keys feature which makes the keys more secure. Corrective ActionWorkaround:No workaround available - see Resolution section below. Resolution: In order to successfully upgrade to FRS_2.05 (or later) from FRS_2.00 (or earlier) the license file must be regenerated and re-installed on the library.
