Impact

A second DVD vendor was selected with the introduction of the RoHS compliant systems. This DVD drive requires a larger opening in the front bezel in order to open or eject the DVD carrier. If the DVD is replaced on an older V2x0 system, the front bezel may need to be replaced with one with a larger front opening.

Symptoms

Workaround

When replacing a DVD with PN 371-1108-01, a bezel replacement is also required:

For V210: Use bezel PN 371-0881-01
For V240: Use bezel PN 371-0882-01

Note: If a customer calls with an Xoption issue with PN X7410A, and the description of the issue revolves around the DVD not opening, a bezel replacement is also required in this instance (same PN as above).

This issue was fully evaluated as an FCO candidate via the official FCO process. However, the FCO was rejected due to the very low expected failure rate, relatively small quantities out in the field, and the fact that it has not been reported at any customer site.
