Sun ZFS Storage 7320 LEDs

The Sun ZFS Storage 7320 provides the following LED groupings:

Front Panel LEDs Rear Panel LEDs

Sun ZFS Storage 7320 Front Panel LEDs



Three of the 7320 front panel LEDs are located on the left hand side of the front panel along side HDD0 and HDD1. The other three 7320 front panel LEDs are located on the right hand side of the front panel along side of the USB ports and HDD7. The Disk Shelf 24x3.5" SAS-2 LEDs are located on the top of the right front end cap. These LEDs provide a quick visual check on the state of the system.

LED Name LED color Description
7320 Locator LED and Locator button
White Enables you to identify a particular server. The LED is controlled using one of the following methods:
  • Issuing the setlocator on or off command
  • Using the Solaris OS command: locator -n (to turn on) or -f (to turn off).
This LED provides the following indications:
  • Off - Normal operating state.
  • Fast Blink - The server received a signal as a result of one of the preceding methods and is indicating here I am - and that it is operational.
7320 Service Action Required LED Amber The service required LED will illuminate when any of the following conditions occur:
  • A fault is detected by the system diagnostics, such as POST
  • When a FRU fails, such as a power supply
7320 Power/OK LED Off The system is unavailable. System power might be off or simply disconnected.
Green - Steady On Normal Operating State
Green - Slow Blink Indicates that the system is in SUSPEND mode.
7320 Power on/off Button Turns the system on and off. This button is recessed to prevent accidental server power-off. There is no Power On/Off button on the rear panel.
7320 Power Supply Service LED Amber The power supply is faulty. The front and rear panel Service Required LED are also lit if the system detects a power supply fault.
7320 System Overtemperature LED Amber The system is over heating.
7320 Fan Module Service LED Amber The fan module is faulty. The front and rear panel Service required LEDs are also lit if the system detects a fan module fault.
Disk Shelf 24x3.5" SAS-2 Locate Button/Indicator LED White - Off Not supported.
White - Blinking @ 1 Hz 50% Locate LED is active.
Disk Shelf 24x3.5" SAS-2 System Fault Indicator LED Green - Steady On System is powered on.
Green - Blinking @ 4 Hz 50% System is booting or being configured.
Green - Off System is powered off.
Amber - Off No current faults.
Amber - On System fault.
Disk Shelf 24x3.5" SAS-2 System Power Indicator Green System powered on and functioning.
Disk Shelf 24x3.5" SAS-2 System Overtemp Indicator LED Amber - On System is over heating.
Disk Shelf 24x3.5" SAS-2 SIMM Board Fault Indicator LED Amber - On SIMM Board failure.
Disk Shelf 24x3.5" SAS-2 Power Supply Fault Indicator LED Amber Power Supply failure..

Disk Shelf 24x3.5" SAS-2 Cooling Fan Status Indicator Amber - On : Fan failure
Disk Shelf 24x3.5" SAS-2 Power supply status Indicator Amber - On : Power supply failure
Disk Shelf 24x3.5" SAS-2 Port OK Indicator Green - On: Normal operation.
Disk Shelf 24x3.5" SAS-2 Port Fault Indicator Amber - On: Fault condition detected.
Disk Shelf 24x3.5" SAS-2 SIM Board Locator Indicator Amber - On: SIM Board failure
Disk Shelf 24x3.5" SAS-2 SIM Board OK Indicator Green - On: System functioning properly
